South Valley Equine offers year-round externships for veterinary students regardless of class year.

Externs will assist partner, associate, and intern veterinarians with daily clinical responsibilities treating in-hospital patients, outpatient appointments, emergencies, and farm calls with numerous opportunities to observe surgical procedures. We encourage 2 to 4-week externships with rotations including rehabilitative sports medicine, surgery, ambulatory, internal medicine, emergency, routine health care, dentistry, and podiatry. Additionally, students are encouraged to spend time at our on-site reproductive center during the months of February through June. Externs are responsible to provide their own housing, and transportation to and from the hospital. If traveling by plane, students will fly into Salt Lake City International Airport which is located approximately 30 minutes north of the practice.
